VAN OF WAR..... 1/4 mile results

That's impressive for that giant van. Any plans to upgrade anything and try to get 14s??
Not really. It's purpose in our fleet is to offer a bed, a table to eat, a outlet to plug into, and pull a trailer... LOL. Racing wasn't a part of it, but I've had so many responses because of the video intro I built, I thought I'd run it and show just what it was... or what it wasn't.... LOL

All stock.
Ah. Yeah, the first post told everything in the thread folks guessed ET.
Weather holds out for Saturday, plan is to take the '89 B250 Van to the track to swap meet/TnT. Anyone want to guess the E.T. of this whale ??
  • Weight unknown, but it's not the shorty or the maxi, regular window van. Rear seat removed and bed installed. Has hitch, rear heat/ac.
  • Gears unknown, but by ear I'd guess 3.55's ??? 30" tire
  • TCI tranny with hughes HD (pulling) TC
  • stock 5.9 magnum with 670 holley SA, headers, and the stock roller cam from a '89 360.
  • We will video it and post it :)

I didn't video anyone else, but cars of interest .....
  • Hellcat I raced, that guy got a 10.06
  • '80 Volare with a slant 6, 1 bbl ran 20.xx
  • Went heads up with a 454 Chevy 2wd short bed and I WON :D He ran a 16.20 against me... Super Nice kid, by the way.
  • PT Cruiser with a Blown 440 in it. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see him run just because he kept staging when I was in line.
  • Some really super fast "street" legal S10's drove in, with parachutes and the works. They raced "clocks off" but word was 8.50's
  • 5 people asked me throughout the day if I really drove it up from Az. LOL My "318willrun" plate :D
I've been watching that PT cruiser on YouTube that thing is crazy!

Does anyone know if the 318 virtual race index worksheet from a few years ago is still posted? Tried searching but can’t remember what the exact title was. Thanks.

Are you referring to the 318 race I started a few years ago that morphed into the small block race???

So for kicks and grins, I guessed 5300 lbs on the Van. According to this chart, I would have needed to run a 15.7, so very close. All a mute point because I don't know the weight.

Great, thanks for the file. Maybe take your van over the scales where you weighed your DT sometime.

I'll get it there... sometime! My '77 Shorty too, I want to know what it weighs as well.

I nominate this for the official "Van-O-War" theme song-

"Fighting, fighting, fighting the world

I've been fighting the world"

i made 3 guesses based on weight,..1st guess was 15.80 at 5000 lbs based on 250 hp and figured on wallace calculator, and 16.80 at 6000 lbs,...then later on guessed again at 4500 lbs,..whats that van really weight????????????

All these guesses and nobody stated the obvious ........

My 318WR stickers !!! The van has 2 of them !! They are worth 2 tenths each! Without them, 16.26 :D :D

A local racer, 100% Mopar man, has a small block V-8 PT Cruiser and a mid engined 440 big block powered van. He drives the PT to and from the track when he races it, but I believe he trailers the van.

Runs in the ELEVEN seconds range in the quarter mile, in this video at 117 mph. Home made workmanship.
I always like to see it at the track, unless I'm lined up next to him (for now).

Is that trans u jointed directly to the diff?
