I have a crack on the side of my block,it doesn't look that deep but looks like it could be brazed? It was fixed with jb weld at one time.what l found after wired wheel the jb weld off. Brazed be a better fix or welded instead?

Close up? That does not look like a through crack. more like a casting imperfection or a heavy gash from something.

That's what l was thinkin to.small hairline crack in one freezeplug hole in the center if you saw that.

I see it but it still doesn't look like a crack...

If it's just a gash like I'm thinkin it is, it doesn't go all the way through. S'why I asked for a better picture.
I can take a better pic tommorrow of it.it doesn't look like it is all the way through

The best thing to do is get it magnafluxed. That will tell 100%. If it doesn't show up there, then I would install those freeze plugs with a thicker coat of TV than usual and it will likely never leak. That is, as long as it'snot cracked all the way through.

That's why they put ribs for cold weather down the sides, i don't think i would build an engine that didn't have them just my opinion.
