How did you celebrate earth day?

My contribution to Earth Day is to keep my 1968 Plymouth Barracuda.

I am one of the original recyclers.

Parts and pieces of thousands of cars like mine that would have ended up in a land fill are now refurbished and living again in my ride and others.

When was the last time you ogled over a Toyota Yaris restoration?? Dreamed of a reference restoration of a Hyundai Pony??

Throw aways much like a toaster or a fridge or stove. Nothing more than an appliance.

I saved 2 60 inch TV's from the landfill! Parts arrived today...made in China, died in America. Reborn in my garage. FIXED IN USA sticker will be on both.

This is in Seattle, WA...yeah, THAT SEATTLE!

I worked and didn't realize it was Earth Day till someone mentioned it. IMO now it's used to get the population all worked up, meanwhile those in power keep on doing their damage.
ON a side note they hired a new guy from Seattle who is so annoying, never shuts up, his favorite subject is Seattle which none of us cares about, and he feels we haven't made him feel welcome...

Maybe you need to show him where the sidewalk is.... he could be constipated...

Got ready for a kitchen remodel. Contractor starts Monday. 15 year of 80's kitchen is finally going bye bye. I'll be glad to have a silverware (ok I use stainless, I ain't that high brow) drawer that doesn't grind. Oh and opening that damn narrow passage from the kitchen to the dining room, its a classic collision area when carrying a hot pot from the kitchen tot he table.

I like to think I strive for political neutrality as I see problems with both of the continuously squabbling children. The Earth is the giver of everything we have, have had, and quite frankly we don't really do a great job of keeping it going because its not like we can pack up and move to Venus. So I don't think you're a hippy, liberal, or some tree huger if you try to do your best to take care of things. It is the house that holds our houses, playgrounds, fishing hole, farm lands, and roads we drive on.

Celebrate? No thanks. First became aware of the phrase when this pos: Ira Einhorn - Wikipedia was in the spotlight and upon further reading of the so called event realized it was just another kook left wing nut bag concoction to make you feel responsible and guilty for just being alive. Piss on Earth Day and any other bullshit concoctions of the left.

Earth Day is bittersweet in our house. Bitter in that it marked the 3rd anniversary of losing my mother-in-law, and Sweet as it is my Dad's (now heavenly) birthday.

Went to work, burned several dozen gallons of diesel in my pre emissions company tractor, then filled up the gas tank of my Bronco, came home and ate some homemade pizza, drank a couple beers, and went to bed. Almost forgot, I cursed global warming while I was freezing my *** in the unseasonably cold snow and rain mix of the day.
What's an Earth day?

@dibbons , you got trees down there? Thought you'd be home free with Yuccas and Joshua trees!

Think about this
How many banks do not get to finance a new throw away car? Those of us that keep the clasics alive have not tossed them out for scrap?
How much money the state can not rob us of for owning a new car.
No smog fees!
Best of all we do not fit into the Jelly Bean look, like all of the computer aided designs of the generic look of todays ECO pod cars.
I drive a pair of Cuda's, 66 and 65. Both Barracuda's alternate 100 miles a day Goleta Ca. to Port Hueneme and back. This has been for 20 years worth of comuter miles.
Gas, oil and tires is my biggest expens.
If we can fix them and drive them we are the winners against the throw away generation. They thate us for not conforming.
The 68 Barracuda is my favorite.
Thanks for keeping her alive.
