Just out of curiosity , what is the average complete core worth these days.
Big Block and Small Block, non lock up.

Thanks !

I bought a couple big block cores a couple years ago for $150. Didnt need them but the price was right. In my opinion the SB one should be worth more. Way harder to come across.

$75 to $125. Around here. but you will get hit with a $200 core charge if you don't turn one in when you buy a built transmission.

I have a few for sale local here and a guy is telling me $75 tops. I also had to pay $150 for core from a junk yard when I need them.

It really depends on the numbers on the 727 trans. I have sold them for as little as $100 or as much as $900 for cores! Hemi and Six Pack cores are still big money, as well as 091, 093, and 541 trans and quite a few others. I agree that small block 727's are MUCH harder to find nowadays. I have 12 big block trans laying around, and NO small block...

Unless you are looking for a "certain number", my thought is SB 727's are in just about every pickup, van, C-bodies if SB, many B-bodies, so I don't see them hard to get. To me, one complete needing rebuilt is 50-75 bucks.

Around here the SB 727 was always hard to come by, even 25 years ago. Stuff is easier to get now with the internet.

Hey Al, do you have any 727 parts? Im going to need a tail housing and outputshaft and maybe a governor to convert a short tail 727.

I actually do have that. I have a 727 with a busted bell housing. I could take apart for you. .
If not in a big hurry, I would have time next week possibly to take apart. .

Let me know.
