I lived 1 hr N of K.C. about 25 yrs and then 250 mi S of there between Joplin and Springfield for 12 yrs.. In SW Mo usually 3 good snows, 5-6 in ea and couple of nights, might get down to single digits. Jan and Feb highs usually 30's, 40's. S.D it is North of Ne. and the week I spend there minis 20 every AM and highes about 10, coldest I ever been in my life!!! ha
Mo. simply has 4 distinct seasons. Hard to beat. It can get somewhat humid in summer, on and off, but if winds blows, not too bad. Some all it God's country, not too far off IMO.
Rural Mo is very conservative and Right wing. Yes Joplin and Springfield have populations but are very rural in nature.
