I have a new divider for my Duster, but before I go ahead with installing it, can anyone suggest an alternative that they may have used? The new one seems to be just heavy cardboard. When I got the car it didn't have a back seat, and the previous owner had just installed a piece of particleboard and covered it with cheap carpeting. Is there a better alternative?

Thanks!

I used a piece of 3/8 exterior grade plywood, stained. but mine was a fold down seat.

Fold down rear divider cars are different.

No divider at all on convertibles.

Yeah, I figured that the replacement one was like OEM. It just seems a bit flimsy. Kinda like the cardboard backing in the door panels. I made my own using a stiffer material that's about 1/8 inch thick. I may consider using the same material, and use the cardboard backing as a template.

Not sure what OP is looking for....a "liner" behind seat, OR the fold down trunk partition? Piece that Supertruck shown is correct for fold down.
Why is convertible even mentioned?
Duster convertible is 1st for me....

Factory, they used heavy gage dark grey cardboard. I made replacements from 1/16" thick masonite board. I intend to spray glue black felt on the trunk side of them.

That's the material I was talking about. I had a brain fart and couldn't remember it. I figured it would be way better than the cardboard.

His user name indicates a '70 Duster though...... ;-)

I was referring to your statement that there are no divider panels on convertibles. Naturally that wouldn't apply to the OP, since he has a Duster, and there were no convertible Dusters (or any A-body convertibles after 1969). My '66 Valiant convertible has one though, and I just bought a new reproduction one through Layson's.
