I'm running a 74 Barracuda that was originally a 318 car. Previous owner dropped a 440-6 into it, and I suspect he set up the kickdown linkage incorrectly. Currently, I have a one piece kickdown setup, and I believe I need the 3 piece setup. The one piece rod seems to be too short, and I'm having trouble dialing the shifting. If anyone has the 3 piece setup (or a one piece rod that's longer, if that exists) I would be interested in buying it. I have found reproduction 3 piece setups, but $300+ is a bit out of my range at the moment.

I tried figuring out a cable configuration, but the Lokar cable is designed to be pulled to operate, as opposed to being pushed like the rod. The way the Holley 6 barrel throttle lever is, I can't figure out a way to attach the cable in order to have it pulled for operation -- like the 4- and 2-bbl carbs.

If you can send me a picture or diagram of what you need, I think I can piece one together from my stash pile.

Hopefully these pictures post as a decent size. I have the throttle bracket, springs, and KD lever. I really just need the 3 rods and bell crank. At least I think that's what I need....

Thanks. The problem that I'm running into is that the cables are designed to be pulled, and I can't find a way to mount it at the carb so that the throttle lever pulls instead of pushes. How did you get around that?

Its all part of the kit, There is a bracket that bolts to the carb that provides a place to mount the cable mount stud to the bottom of the bracket and the throttle stud to the top of the bracket.

I know this is on an edelbrock 4 barrel carb, but you may need to make the throw longer for the cable. Your geometry is way off in that pic. BTW the cable looks like a standard issue dodge dakota cable.

Buy a 1992 Dakota kickdown cable, $46 OEM mopar off evilbay, hit the junkyard, find a 1992 ram van for the kickdown lever, cable mount, return spring, and the bracket off the throttle body to make your own engine side bracket. Prob $15 at a pick n pull, get a bolt on kickdown stud kit from edelbrock for about $8 for the carb end, and viola a kickdown cable setup with stock stuff for less than $100. My sons setup mockup at the trans end. Kickdown lever off a mopar OD trans will fit A904 and A727
