Good afternoon all. The wife and I just picked up our first project car and as I was doing research on the car, I ran across this forum. We picked up a 1967 Dodge Dart 270 2 door Hardtop. Completely original 2 owner car (father and son) but in need of work as it is a New England car. Fortunately it has been in storage/garaged for the last 15 years. We are excited to get to digging into the weeds and see what all it really needs. I am sure I will pop in here frequently when I have questions. Thanks in advance. =)

Hello Sean, and Welcome to FABO from the Land of Lincoln. Snap a couple of pics when you get a chance, we would love to see them.

Will do. bought the car yesterday and going back to pick it up Saturday once I get the trailer. Beautiful blue, except the fenders which were either repaired or replaced and painted black. Tom (the seller) is 80 and couldn't remember if his dad repaired them or replaced them. I am still excited...=). We are planning to document our progress. Not sure where we want to go with it at this point other than to get it running and driving safely for now. Wife wants to keep the character and originality, I am leaning towards resto mod. We'll see who wins out...who am I kidding, she will. =)

Welcome,
I like your sense of humor.

Welcome Sean lots of good help here and we all will be looking forward to you getting the Dart on the road again.

Well learning my first lesson about this car...wheels and tires for the stock 5x4 bolt pattern are slim pickings. Think I found a set of 14s that will work but the tire options are ****...wait...can I curse here? I was a sailor for 23 years so it is kinda ingrained in my bones at this point. If not, I will try to behave. I digress...

**** works just fine and don't behave yourself to much you'll make the rest of us look bad. Make yourself at home a cold beer in the fridge for ya and good people to talk to.

Welcome! Sounds like you are about to have a blast!!!

:welcome:from :canada:, sounds like you have a good candidate to start with, looking forward to seeing pictures of it. Feel free to cuss if you want, most of us have been known to so at times.

80's mini trucks all used' 14's so Walmart carries them tires for like $43 a piece. I love that platform, light, room for headers but you have that crazy one year idler arm...just a 'gotcha' on that year. welcome aboard!

Welcome and congrats on finding a good project and having a wife that is interested! You will find 14's, all they have to do is roll and not blow out!

Thanks all for the warm welcome. Not sure how much of the wife you will see. She doesn't like putting herself out on the old interwebz. There will be plenty of pics of the car though. Maybe even the old(ish) fat guy writing this post. We plan to start our documentation with a few "before" pics when we go pick it up Saturday. My wife (who grew up in the shops around here) is having one of her friends put feelers out for the rims/tires I am looking to put on. Should have an answer on that tomorrow. =) Saturday cannot come soon enough. =)

Welcome aboard Officer Sean, from another Canuck. 67 was a great year!
Pics of car and wife are always welcome!

If you want to go to 15" wheels, there are companies out there that have 15" wheels with 5 X 4" bolt circle. We put a set on a 72 Duster because the owner didn't want to convert to BBP. They worked like a champ with his KH front disc brakes.

Hmmm. will have to keep looking. I would definitely rather have 15" wheels as I eventually want to convert to disk brakes. This car has drums all the way around.

Wheel Vintiques has stamped black steelies 15 x 7, 4 " backspacing for SBP Mopar.

Welcome aboard. Give us details and pictues. What engine and drive train?

Welcome from Pittsburgh, Pa. You're about to start an adventure/addiction that you won't be able to shake. I've had my Dart since 1981. Lots of great people here and help.

Good morning all. I will have pictures on Saturday after we get the trailer so we can pick it up. It has the 273 2 bbl with the A-904-LA TorqueFlite Automatic Transmission. From the Service manual (which I found here. AWESOME!) it should have the 7-1/4 rear end though I have not verified. Tom, the previous owner, said it has had no modifications. I verified the engine and that the shifter is on the column. Upholstry is a wreck, one big mouse nest, but amazingly the headliner is pristine. Floors seem to be in good condition. I found one small quarter sized hole on the drivers side but will know more once I get the carpet ripped out. It has a bit of exterior rust on the quarter panels particularly around the wheel wells and at the back by the bumper. rear bumper is trashed. There are a few places where all that is left is the chrome. Both front fenders have been replaced. Definitely a project car. I am already looking into seeing if I can rent a rotisserie somewhere near here as I don't have the room to just buy one. Sunday, I am going to work on seeing if I can bring the paint around. It is heavily oxidized with a bit of patina at the edges but mostly intact. Detailing is one of the areas I am pretty good at so we'll see.
