Ok, I did not really like the brazilian darts too much until I saw that third picture. That just looks menacing.

Black scoop in one pic, body color in the next.

...E body tuff wheel.

Love the EL5 butterscotch engine.

Very interesting how each country had their own and very particular version, it would be good to know why those difference a licence or copyright thing with Chrysler headquarters in the USA?

I remember very well this car when I was a kid, the things that come to mid it's when the car was parked under the sun for several hours when you sat in thos vinyl seats you could burn your butt or your legs when you were wearing short pants also if you tried to rest your forearm on the door, bam! burm again with that black interior paint that's why my mother always kept some towels or sheets to protect our butts.
Because the car didn't had a/c the 8 hours trip (or any trip to hot weather places) on a 2 lane road (no highway yet back then) to Acapulco was like travel in an oven, my mother used to kept in the back seat a Coleman water jug with lemon water and a lot of ice.
The car was very fisical to drive no power steering wheel and no power breaks the emergency stops always came with a lot a tire squealing and countersteering the car, I remember once a co-worker of my mother drove once the Super Bee and he couldn't belive how my mother could park that thing, he used to drive a VW Beatle :)

I can't get use to the Dodge Dart front ends and Plymouth Duster back ends. But those parts were produces for several years after the last U.S. A-body in 1976! I'd like to see what their salvage yards are like.

@YY1 , your mailbox is full.

So would I!!

So what happened to the:
*South African
*Australian
*Mexican
Branches of Chrysler?
Were they just not profitable and got shut down or were they simply victims of Chrysler’s bankruptcy of the late 70’s or did they just get ran out of town by the Japanese car import craze of the 70’s?

In 1973 Chrysler Corporation took the operation in Mexico (before called Automex) and from then until now it's called Chrysler de México, the brand was more or less successful behind Chevrolet and Ford even with the terrible economic crisis that we had here most of the 80's and part of the 90's, since 2011 with the global crisis now Chrysler in México have lost ground with almos every brand sold in México after been in third place of sales for many years.
now the places of sales down here are:
1. Nissan
2. GM
3. VW (VW-SEAT)
4. Toyota
5. Kia
6. FCA (now Stellantis)
7. Honda
And the rest

Is it fair to call them "non Ameican"? They were made by an American auto maker, but for different countries. I sure wish we got some of them. I'd love me a Brizilian Charger.
