Car show question

Hello all. I want to get yalls general opinion on a matter. My new boss, is also a car guy we have got to talking about cars and such. He is a member of a car club that is somewhat local (about an hour away, 80 miles or so) he has a very nice restored 71 chevy c 10 with a 402. He invited me to go to the car shows with him this summer. As a general how do car guys feel about unfinished cars in car shows? My car is nowhere near complete but it does run and drive now and is a WIP! Would it insult or piss anyone off to bring a wip and park it beside a fully restored car?

My two cents...

Nothing wrong with bringing a work in process or rough car into a show. I've seen it quite a few times, but I think you'll get more from the day if you take some time to clean the car up. People may want to see your car as it might remind them of the one they had... Maybe the the same condition even.

It's a minimal cost to clean the windows, tires, etc. Vacuum the interior. Got some good paint? Polish it. Wash the car... Yea, it might be rust or primer, but make it clean rust and primer.

Follow my thoughts? Present it well... An afternoon of cleaning isn't going to win you a trophy, but it will get more people looking and talking rather than walking by. It will make the experience more fun.
