I got to thinking about what item I would love to find for my car (1966 Barracuda) that I just couldn't find. I soon realized that most of those items I was able to find if I looked long enough and had enough money to buy it. One item that I still haven't found or even seen a photo of is the optional factory mattress for the rear compartment. Anyone ever seen one or have a photo of one? How about your car? Is there something that was available that you have never seen?

How about a "lack" of an option?

70 Convertible Barracuda, three speed on the floor...

Not an a-body but my long gone 64 Dodge Polara 500 with a 361 big block and a 4 speed manual had a factory tachometer in the center console. I have never seen another one with the factory tach.
My 1969 Dodge Polara 500 Convertible has a factory 383 four barrel that is rated at 5 hp less than the Road Runner engine because of a slightly different camshaft, everything else is the same as the HP 383. Oh, and it has factory air conditioning.

Are you limiting your question to the A body line of cars, only?
But if not, when i owned a 71 Hemi GTX 4 speed car for 28 years it was, the 426 Hemi engine.
One of 11 cars produced.

The color of my 1971 Dart Swinger, Citron Yella. One year only option in 1971.

I mainly wanted to keep it A-body, and so far, I've seen all the options mentioned.......some more than once.

383, in a Dart. Wish I had that original motor too. :(

Along that line....why were there no '64-6 Barracuda convertibles? They could have based them on the Valiant convertible with all on-the-shelf parts.

was that a dealer accessory over the counter part?

I know in 68 it was. Along with mats for station wagons.

Why would that be a good idea? It would end up just looking like a Signet convertible.

Just cuz you don't like it, doesn't mean someone wouldn't

I mean, it's the performance option right? Why not offer a vert ? My Barracuda vert "looks" just like a "Cuda" vert....

The HD suspension I would suspect is about all the ol' girl has going for her in the options column.... Though the color is pretty rare for an H-code (or atleast I haven't seen another one....) On the laughter side of this conversation it actually running and being driven is what's most rare about the dang thing lol....

Absolutely nothing about my car is rare.
The unsilenced air cleaner seams to be unusual on a 2bbl, rare?

The dealer optional wheel covers are rare, the rocker moldings are rare (but not factory, grandfather had them added when the car was a year old)

But quite possibly the rarest part on the car is the original license plate frame (if you have one let me know).

Probably my 66 Dart GT. HP 273, 833 and a 3.23 Sure Grip in a 8 3/4. One of 1237 that includes convertibles and hardtops.
