Off topic: I sorta learned how to install a new VW or Porsche floor pan
Always cool to see a master at work! VW Beetle is one piece that includes a channel for body mounting bolts on the outside edge. There are outriggers front and rear- at the factory the floorpan is located by front and rear outriggers and a lip on the tunnel, then spot welded. Its a job, but a full pan can be replaced without completely separating the body.
I was in my hometown last week and revived a bug I hadnt driven in 13 years. The rust has gotten so bad, there is hardly any structure to the pans or rockers and heater channels.
