My theory is (and I am serious) be nice until it's time to not be nice. I always try to be nice. When a new person asks a question without giving any data, or with a vague thread title, I sometimes chime in, welcome him to the thread, and explain the best way to get results to a question. That being said, jerks that ask a question and then argue with people who are trying to help, OR people who ask a vague question and then more or less refuse to provide data after being asked by several FABO members to provide it, OR people who say RUDE things about people they disagree with fall under a different umbrella. At times open season on them is OK.
