Exhaust Band Clamps

I have limited experience using band type clamps for exhaust. I have a slip joint and have a standard U style clamp on it now. I need to lose the U clamp as it touches the cross member frame every once in a while. The band clamp would offer a lot more clearance. The mid pipe slips over the head pipe, so they have different outside diameters. Is this the correct type band clamp I need for this situation? It appears so from the description. There are USA made versions and China made versions. The USA versions hold WAY better.

However, you still have a problem in that you already crimped the pipe when attaching the U style clamp. The band clamp will likely leak and may even allow for the pipes to separate because the Pipes are no longer round.

In order for these band clamps to work properly, both pipes need to be clean, round and still able to slip fit in and out.
