Stop in for a cup of coffee

It is a famous sandwich in Chicago. Thinly sliced beef in a seasoning type auju. With hot peppers served on a bun. You can get them on most any street vendor cart and at mom and pop diners all over the city. There are two main players on the chain side Portellos and the pictured Buckets from Bs. They are both excellent and have rabid followers each claiming the crown. I like them both! You ever want a treat Portellos has a website and you can order a Kit of I think makings for 8 sandwiches for right at 80 bucks delivered anywhere. The box comes frozen complete with directions and everything you need including the special bread. It is well worth it. They are yummy. Give it a try, you will be shocked at how good they are. And beware many folks around the country claim to serve Eyetalian beef sandwiches but I can assure you the only place to get a good one is in Chicago. I always try the imitation ones in search of a good one, no luck thus far.

Thanks for the heads up, I will try them. Went to Chicago once and was after deep dish pizza, didn't know about these sammies.
