"Dibbons" is a nickname. When I was a toddler, someone asked Dad what to call me (I was named after Dad). For some reason, a gentleman from England Dad did business with came to mind, a "Mr. Dibbons" and it stuck. Later, it got shortened to "Dib".

Fifty years later, I was working North Shore Lake Tahoe, Nevada, as a casino cashier. I used my nickname while I was there. A co-worker told me about a book she had read titled "Dibs in Search of Self" and recommended I read it some time. I thought some day I might read it but was in no hurry to purchase any books.

My wife likes to shop at thrift stores. While still living in the Lake Tahoe cabin, I accompanied her one afternoon to a local second-hand store. I walked around for a few minutes, got bored, and sat down to wait for the misses to finish up (nothing at the time in the store interested me).

While still seated and waiting patiently, I turned my head to find directly behind me a bunch of used books for sale (probably fifty cents each or so). Right at eye level and directly in front of my nose on the shelf was a paperback book titled "Dibs in Search of Self". That was quite a coincidence, without ever having looked for the book, the book found me.
