I pulled the windshield and before I reinstall it, I figure I will replace the crappy molding clips that are on there now.
I can not trust that the existing clips are in the correct position.

Looking at the picture, the packet of clips come with a bunch of the round hole clips and and a a lesser amount of the oval hole clips.

I have no way of knowing which one to put where

Any information would be greatly appreciated

The clips on the left picture appear to be the ones for the windshield but I'm not sure . stainless screws appear to be correct . If you install them backwards the stainless trim will never go on . so be careful there . I believe you can't install them backwards anyway because the screw won't go in . gotta put them in before you install the windshield . I got mine from "Mr.G's fasterers" in Texas , online only . Good luck !

I’d like some info on windshield clips too. The rear window clips on my ‘65 Dart coupe were rusted and almost unrecognizable. I took pictures of the clips I took off my donor car as they came out, but I’m still not sure exactly how they should work.

I suggest you contact "Mr.G's fasterers" as well . His online catalog should answer your questions . some front and rear clips look the same but upon close inspection are different , so be careful here . An existing clip from your car (or a parts car) would be helpful if your window is still in . good luck

I finally removed all the existing clips. What a pain.
I found only one of the clips, on the right, in the picture. It was on the top row closest to the drivers door.

I spent about half an hour, looking around Mr. G's website and found absolutely no information which of the two clips go where.
I have been looking thru the service and parts manual and can not find the windshield in then. I was hoping they may shed some light on the placement.
Installing them is pretty straight forward. The thing is there are so many more clips of one type than the other. It may be significant

Not for sure what you are working on...but on a 70 Dart the short clips go on horizontally across, the ones with the oval holes go on vertically. You will find the holes are drilled much closer to the edge on the vertical post, and this is where the oval holes come into play...

ps. this site has a great search engine

Sorry, a 71 Plymouth Duster. I tried the search engine numerous times and if did not come up with what I wanted/needed. Or I did not look close enough

So are you saying the oval clips are put at the corners of the windows , on the horizontal? The oval gives you very slight leeway for adjustment. So it would make sense the corners would be the placement? I am not making a statement, that was more of a question, to see if I understand you correctly

You are making it too hard...you have more of one style of clips correct... there are more for the upper and lower horizontally, what style of clips do you have left, maybe four or more they fit vertically.. lay them out count the screw holes.

I’m not getting you either . Other people on here say those 4 larger clips with oval holes say they go across the bottom and most other people say only to use the larger / oval hole clips . Many people say to order all clips as the bigger oval clip but no one will sell me then this way . But also me and few guys are looking for pictures . All my clips were rotten - I I do not know what what they go , upside down / backwards or what . Does anyone have pics of how the clips should go in ?

I already put them in. If I remember correctly I placed the ones with oval holes towards the corners of the window

This doesn’t make sense though . Not one other person has said that . Most people say to use the 4 green ones / oval ones across the bottom. Or don’t use any of the smaller ones and get all 23 as the oval ones . But I’m asking which way to install them . I don’t know which is top , bottom , backwards , upside down.

I just did this on my 70 dart and the tall (oval hole) clips only fit in the center of the lower horizontal run - just enough to fit where the shape of the channel allows for ones that tall. But that's in a Dart body, not a Duster/Demon body

The hole is set flat to the car body, screwed in. This way the top with the slight bend will be sticking up and slightly away from the body so the molding can slide between the body and the clip. ---Just remenbered I have not put the molding on yet so I took some picture. I hope I this answered what you needed View attachment 1715783609 View attachment 1715783609 View attachment 1715783609
