Hughes Small Block HE3038AL cam on Ebay NOT MINE

-
I have that grind also. Ran it in a vacuum class back in the day. Hell of a nice grind. Would make a bitchin little street cam.

I got that one in my 367; I like it a lot, but I'm running alloy heads at about 180 psi, so............... I'm a lil biased.
the specs are;
276/286/110 advertised 230/237@.050 and with plenty of lift.
I would not run it with less than 160 psi ; it does lack bottom-end punch and needs a starter gear of around 10 to 11 with a 4-speed, even at my pressure. Forget trying to run the 2.33 low gear with 3.55s, and low-pressure; that is a very disappointing first-gear combo with this cam. 1.92 Second gear is fine down to 3.23s if you keep the Rs up a bit.
But I can guarantee you that with a carb, you will NEVER get decent fuel mileage with it, so don't even think about installing it in a DD,lol.
For a DD:
The next smaller cam from Hughes, the HE2430AL is IMO, much superior in every way except gives up some power after 5000rpm. With it and adequate pressure, more than 155psi (I'm guessing, I ran 185), you can just about run any gears starting with 2.94s with any stall greater than 2400; more stall with smaller gears, less with bigger.
With my OOTB circa 1999 Eddies, I have spun both of these cams to 7000 on a regular basis; the 3038 pulling hard all the way in at least two and three gears, with 3.55s. The 2430 peaked at about 5200 and the 3038 at 5500 but both of them have Loooooong flat power curves up there.
