Replaced My Super Nasty Carpet

Cool car! I'm no pro but the next time you have the carpet out, plan on wire wheel/ wire brush/ sand all the rust areas. Cut out the soft spots and weld in patch panels wherever necessary. Harbour freight has cheaper mig welders- floors are great spot to learn how to weld- (carpet hides welds) Rust keeps on rusting... clean the exposed metal, primer and paint ( even tremclad rust paint ). Anything that will prolong the rust. I would wire brush the outside of the floor( underneath the car) and paint it as well, to help slow the rust down. My son just cut out and did the same thing to his 70 swinger this winter, it's not perfect but it will last a few more years until he gets new pans. Keep driving and enjoying your duster!
