LOLOL Tom Bailey---Jetskis at the boat ramp

-
I guess some of you know Tom burned the car up

Kept waiting for something exciting to happen...did I blink and miss it?

I caint believe this aint got more comments. Dammit.

What was he attaching between the seats? Looked like cup holders.

I think maybe the copos parked nearby put the squelch on that stuff

The mere idea you can drive a 6 second car (or should I say 5?) around on the street at all, much less back it down a ramp and get back out, is fairly impressive to me

Tom Bailey Rips Off A 5.77 In Full Drag Week Trim!

Bailey loaded his Camaro up and drove to Bradenton Motorsports Park to get some testing in before the U.S. Street Nationals and that’s when things started to get interesting. The Camaro was driven to the staging lanes and laid down a 5.881 at 252.76 MPH with a 1.011 60’ time, this smashed the Drag Week run by a full tenth of a second and over two MPH. According to Steve Morris, that was on a soft tune-up and only 48 PSI of boost being pumped into the engine.

That 5.88 pass was just the beginning for Bailey, a bigger tune-up was loaded into the Camaro and it responded with a 5.773 at 259.66 MPH, resetting the streetcar record here in the United States yet again. What makes that pass even more impressive is the fact it was done in full Drag Week trim.

I was in the stands when he went the 5.99 at VMP. He and Steve are humble guys. Talked to them for a few minutes and they seemed like people you want to be around. Too bad it caught fire however they will sort it out and have it back better than before...

I am sure someone will do it in the near future however it will turn into just another 5 second pass for the class as nothing counts so much as the first one.....

If you watch "Riding with Alex Taylor" on Youtube, he is building a gasser style, straight axle, tube chassis, 55 Nomad with a Screw Blower SMX on Nitro attached to a Liberty 7 spd and drag radial tire.
