I believe the 2 wide placed scoops were 71 and the one in the pic you shared is a 72. On Demons that is. My 71 had the 2 wide spaced scoops.

Back to OP. Being you don't like the wide spaced scoops nor the stinger style, and the 6 pack scoops are too tall for your liking, I would say flat hood. The early Max Wedge scoop would be low profile and looks great on these cars. Just my 2¢

I don't think it looks bad at all. The leading edges of the scoop match the leading edge of the fenders almost perfectly. They slope down, forward and curl in at almost an identical proportion. It sit's low and smooth, much like the lines on a Duster. It sits over the hood bulge without issue. It has an overall top profile that runs with the hood well. I think if you want a scoop and you don't wan't the snorkels, this is one of the best you could find.

That's a nice looking scoop. Just looked at the dimensions, says it's 2.5" tall. It doesn't look like that in the pics though.
 
Dare to be different!
Don't put a hood scoop on your Duster.
Just use your cold air system and be done with it..........
