Guess my horsepower - 318/392 stroker

I have mine there too. 422" 340. Hyd. roller deal. Lifter bores bushed because nearly all the lifter bores are chamfered in pre-1987 blocks. Going to be Pro Flo 4 injected but he's dynoing with his carb and distributor.

Brian seems to be a stand up guy that will do the right thing if there are any issues. I have another engine for my E-body I want to take there too but gotta finish up two A-bodies first.

Nice! Brian is currently building my 408 stroker. Forged bottom end, gear drive, solid roller. Trick Flow heads, with a B&M 162 supercharger. Not much boost at all, but we’ll see what it does. Always a 671 option later. Might be done in a couple months, maybe sooner. I dunno. He’s a busy man.

always wanted a 318 stroker as well.
 
We'll both have plenty of low end torque. Mine's a road race engine and will live in the mid to high rpm range, as well. With that other engine I'm going to take there it is a street engine and I was going to upgrade from a blow through carb to Sniper or another Holley product. However, I hear that they are working on making Pro Flo compatible with forced induction.

-High quality peripheral components: Kevco pan, MSD distributor, MSD wires...
-labor intensive intake porting
-full all new scat rotating assembly. Including rods.

factor that stuff with the crate kit (sponsor). He’s in same range. And gets a custom tailored motor to meet his needs with personal guidance.

-bore and hone was $300
-I think it was true decked to the rotating assy. That’s more labor than just deck surfacing $250

Imma say 12.5. But I totally get the excitement. His prices are a bit high for this part of the country, but over there, I'm sure they are about right, plus, you're gettin what you pay for through IMM, I believe.

I can see the parts list.. 2k labor is reasonable... It's just a lot of coin...

Yep, block checked out good. I have another 340 block that will be on its last bore too. .030 over 340 blocks are too expensive so I just buy “end of life” blocks. LOL

Are you going to dyno it ? Would like to see that.

One cool thing about Brian is that he dynos all the builds. Quality control. It’s in the price.

Man, with the money you’re spending I hope you’ll get closer to 500, but I’d guess 458hp/471tq

I’m sure a bigger cam could be put in it to get a higher number to brag about for same cost. He’s 318 based too. So at over 1hp/cu in he’s 16hp down from a 408

But OP seemed to be looking for maintenance free, reliable, easy to stay tuned, street motor he could jump in and drive anywhere.

...still may be limited to street tires trying to hook on street pavement.

AMEN..!!.. this forum is full of gurus who believe if you're not ekeing out every last possible miniscule of horsepower and torque then you don't know what the hell you're doing... LOL..
I have the Forum and self-proclaimed slowest stroker on the internet and the car is no fun to drive without at the very least Street slicks... Normal tires it's like a skating rink... And that's after putting a much smaller cam then necessary...
