Side mirror is useless

So finally got the 70 Dart on the road and it has a remote drivers mirror, but it's pointless. I can't see anything from it.

I have a passenger non remote mirror, but haven't installed it yet.

Do the sport or rally mirrors offer more of a view? I'm looking for more function over style.

I have the sport mirrors on my Duster, they’re ok, but, they’re still small and don’t offer all that much better of a view. But the Duster has a different mirror position too, there’s no wing vent so there’s no post and the mirror is in a different location. On the Darts the mirror is moved further back on the door so the wing vent can open. So not even all A-bodies are the same.
