That was my son’s high school senior project. We took apart everything except the motor and derusted, cleaned and painted it plum crazy. It is a 1971 Honda trail 90. We wanted to rebuild something and only had 2-3 months so rebuilding a car was not going to happen. Thanks for the complimentsWhat is that Trail Bike in the back ground... ????? Way Cool...
Gasoline Storage plan B.
Filled up the 55 with Non-Ethanol 91 Octane today. Feels good having gas reserves, especially when you see lines of cars patiently waiting to get into the gas station to get gas.
Installed short chains to the 4 corners of the pallet so I can hoist it up and move it when it's full, should the need arrise.
Filled all the 5 gallon cans and topped off all the vehicle's gas tanks too.

Today I worked on the drivers side of the 64 Barracuda. I converted over to SBP disc brakes a few years ago and knew all the bushings needed replacement (I did put new ball joints on during the swap). I had bought some spare upper control arms and lower control arms from members. Over the winter I pressed in new bushings on all control arms, so today I replaced upper and lower control arms and replaced the strut bushing. Tomorrow I do the passenger side. Wish I had a garage so I wouldn't have to roll around on the asphalt. (Over 12 years as a member and finally got my 800th post)

Switched out the 15 front rims for some cool crusty 14s...that had tires which didn't show the steel belts
Also did a little adjustment to the alignment to hopefully keep it from chewing up the next set of tires

Day 2 on the 64 Barracuda didn't go as well as day 1 (see above post for day1). One of the upper A arm bolts would not come out no matter how much force was applied. Ended up using the gas wrench (just purchased it 2 months ago). Replaced upper A arm. Next was the lower arm and the torsion bar would not budge. Looked at this site and tried everyone's ideas on how to get it free and nothing worked (this is the first time I've had this problem and this is not my first torsion bar removal). Put everything back together (can't leave the car on jacks in front of my townhouse) and ordered the removal tool from Mancini. I will tackle this project again after the tool arrives (hopefully early next week).

That looks kool. What did ya use to get it up there? Those are 1 ton jacks right? does the car "sway" at all?

Those are 5 Ton jacks. And just a floor jack to raise it up.

Sorry to hear that.
Just ordered one of these this morning for transferring fuel. Like this style electric motor and pump, not the pulse type.
Could be handy to carry along for emergencies.

I told her which pump to get (just a cheap Precision) but they gave her a different one that's for diesel. It worked to get me home. I'll keep it for a spare after I replace it.
I'm going to start a thread on "best electric fuel pump ". I don't care how much it costs, lol.
Drove the snot out of it.. out to get groceries. Highway cruising it has a bit of a miss/popping stumble at ONLY 3200 RPM. 3100 smooth, 3300 up to 7000!! SMOOTH. Guess that big open chamber intake manifold just doesn't like 3200 at 60 MPH. Guy I bought it from had the vacuum advance plugged off, I hooked it back up this morning and it runs better IMHO than it did corked.
Changed out the break-in oil and filter. WOW was the filter hard to get off. Tried 5 wrenches before it would budge. Was ready to do the ole screwdriver through the side trick!! Installed header collector crankcase breather venturi/check valves. New driver 5-pt harness goes in tomorrow and top off the rear diff. Maiden outing hopefully next weekend.

Drove it to my graduation, parked right in front of the stadium and had the most amazing date and drive home as an official Dr (Dentist)
