Any current or past users of these Romac balancers (specifically small block), what’s your opinion of them? Has there been any issues of outer ring slipping at all? Finish holding up? Thanks

I am putting one on my upcoming slant build.

Used this particular one for over three years. It was fine until I upped the power on my Sb stroker. Was re-checking the timing and discovered that the outer ring had slipped at some point. This is the same piece as the Summit version that are Made In China. The finish didn’t hold up very well, rusted rather quickly. Typical Garbage

Well trying To find one of these in stock is proving Rather difficult. Might have to look into one of those race Powerbond balancers. I see those are made in Australia also so that’s good

Right now we are all picking **** with the chickens when it comes to parts. Word I’m getting is we aren’t at the bottom yet. That sucks.

What I’m noticing lately is that the real quality parts are usually out of stock, but the cheap China crap parts are all on hand in large quantities. I will wait it out vs. caving!

You're probably right, too.

We ran a Romac SFI balancer on our Dakota 5.9 crate engine forever with no problems, I have the same one on my 408 that is 12 years old & it will be transferred to the 416 when I finish it.

Was that on a magnum engine? I have a PRW SFI one on my 2000 360 magnum engine and don't care for it much. Thinking about trying a different one

Manny I couldn’t score a romac but ended up using
Now Waiting on a response to my email. Thanks. Tried (called) Bill Mitchell as they have them listed online with a decent price but nothing in stock. They mentioned they would contact them to see if in stock, likely drop ship. Will see
Manny I use the pro race for my stroker as I couldn’t get the Romac due to availability. Nice solid unit and it’s not a cheap unit . Only thing I find with it is it’s very hard trying to read timing when using a timing light as the light bounces off . It’s too bloody shiney from the coating it has on it .64277 Pro Race All Steel SFI Race Harmonic Balancer, Chrysler 273-360

What’s the problem with it? Kim
The paint on it is crap. The biggest thingbi dont like about it is the little marks between 20 and 30 degrees etc are not close to the edge of the balancer and the little marks are hard for me to see.

paint the marks with white-out and then wipe the semi dry stuff off, leaving only the grooves painted. Worked for me. I think half the Chinese shipping fleet is anchored off Long Beach/San Pedro here, must be 30 container ships anchored out there. Could walk to Catalina and not get wet!

The Dakota was a 5.9 Magnum engine & my bracket car is a 360 LA engine.

Contacting Romac kinda sucks as they show no phone# they only accept emails. Should have a Powerbond Race balancer by tomorrow. Ain’t got time to wait around for someone to reply to a friggin email.....

I was in a "Romantic balancing" act back in high school, dating three chics at once...:)
In the back seat of a VW Bug....

I was in the same jam dating a girl named Dorothy who had two other boyfriends. New Years Eve 1964 I was supposed to go out with her.... she stood me up along with BF #2 and went out with Butch. BF#2 and I made a point showing how pissed we were by dragging my '57 Olds 88 down her street at 11PM at 80 MPH several times.

A block down there was a cop picking up his partner in his shiny new '65 Ambassador. They pulled me over, I could barely stand much less drive, and they escorted me home to my house and released me to the company of my mother. Dad never found out. My Mom was a saint!
