That's everywhere I am in Pa and there are more NY and NJ plates than ever before and I am in the middle of the state. Its like WTF are they doing here running dope?:) NJ folk are notorious for driving like idiots been that way my whole life. My parents used to cuss 'em while driving.

Ouch. That hurts.
It's stories like this that make me seriously consider mounting a dash cam. I hear they have front and rear cameras for not much money.

how partial plate, what year Honda? My neighbor works at the CA DMV.......?

I've been running one in the front for 2 or 3 years now, was around $250.00, I just download it to my laptop if I need to.

I have an 86 Fox body that I dont drive much because i dont want to fix collision damage on that. The front nose piece and paint isnt cheap, i feel even more overprotective of my Dart. i was just telling the wife Ill get it painted and someone will hit it.

Pishta- I crossed the part # on the grille they left behind. Corresponds to 2012-13 Honda Crosstour. Plate # begins with 8UX
8UX is a somewhat recently registered vehicle as the 2012 CA plates were no where near 8s. Eg. Dec '16 was issuing 7XAMxxx ...in numerical order. So if you can find when the 8UX plates were given out, you can close in on the regisration date and that may whittle down the thousands of white crosstreks re-registered in CA.

I think cars are replated somewhere in the auction/used dealer process. So, recent plate # on a 2012 car?
Ive been zig zagging the blocks in the area, but nothing yet.

That car is under a tarp somewhere until it can get a new grill. I sold a car to my deadbeat neighbor $200 a month for a year and then he would get the pink with a $100 penalty for every month he misses, wrote up a contract and he signed it. Stupid but I thought the guy wasn't going to move out in 2 months! So I lose contact with the guy and about 5 months later I get a call asking for the pink so he can register it. I told him your now $2600 in the rears and when I see $2600, you get the pink per our agreement and BTW that car is going to be reported stolen in 2 weeks if I dont hear from you. Nothing...so about a month later I'm driving home and I see my F'n car parked on a residential street in the next town! I run home and get the pink and knock on the door of the house. Find out He's not home and the mom doesnt know where he is. I call the tow truck that I asked to park around the corner (a customer of mine) and he comes and looks at my pink and starts hooking it up. About 2 minutes later the guy runs from around the corner and starts threatening me and the tow truck driver if we take his car! I start calling the police on my cell, the tow truck driver tells me he doesn't want to get in the middle of anything and leaves. The guy tells me if I call the cops, the car will disappear and Ill never see it again, or the money. Im screwed so I tell him Ill buy the car back for what he has paid me, $400. He says it was $600 so we settle for $500. Long story but if someone wants to hide a car, it can be done.

The cops won't bother themselves with the guy. A few years ago some guy came around a corner and hit my parked pickup and then drove off. There happened to be a guy walking nearby who saw the guy hit and leave. He told me the car was a dark gray Honda with stickers all over the back of it. When police arrived I had them get a statement from him. After the police left I noticed that a rear view mirror was laying under my pickup. I picked it up and threw it on the floor of the cab. That night my wife and I went to eat and when we came out saw a car matching the description and it had body damage. It also had yellow paint, the color of my pickup scuffed onto it. I also noticed the rear view mirror was broke off. I took a photo of me holding the mirror I found next to the broken stub, got a photo of the license plate, a photo of the damage and yellow paint and a photo of the current college parking permit. The next morning I called the investigating officer. He had me send him the photos and took the mirror as evidence. He told me he would look into it and let me know. Two weeks later nothing. I drove to the college and found the car and took another photo. I sent it to the cop and called him. He said they did not have enough evidence to make a case. Obviously didn't want to deal with more paperwork.

I live in Washington State, and I'm not surprised they took their crappy driving habits with them. Not all of us are like that, although I'm not apologizing for these sphincters. It started 15 years ago when Californians cashed out their houses and moved up here. They took their driving habits with them. I was struck in my garage 2 years ago by an idiot at 40 MPH. IN MY GARAGE! I've had enough. My wife retires in the next year or two, and we'll take a wheelbarrow of money and move. My motherland of Florida is looking good. So is Nevada, although I'm worried about the Californicators moving there.

Im from WA, and spend a fair amount of time in Reno. My friends say there are lots of transplants from WA, OR, and CA recently. They’re generally viewed as ‘discourteous’ on the road. Bay Area roads are mayhem- When in NV I try to drive like I’m a guest.

What does that equate to "posession is 9/10 of the law" ? as in the guy possesses it so it is his? It seems if you had the pink its legally yours.

Been there several times. Unfortunately you are better off just forgetting about any sort of justice and moving on. They won't have insurance. They won't show up to court. If you find the person on your own and make contact they will call the police. If they are any type of mental defective or illegal they will have a team of city and state advocates ready to destroy you.

Even if everything goes right and you somehow get them into court they will never pay.

Hey I used to live in W Oakland, corner of 40th and Broadway to be exact. This was 20+ years ago though when Oakland was a lot more rough around the edges. Back then I drove a 72' Charger with 295/50's on the back. Wasn't a great city car as it set off every car alarm in sight. I go back every couple years to visit old friends. That place has totally come up with all the fancy restaurants and brew pubs. Back then, after dark it was a complete ghost town except for a few crappy dive bars.

Accident happened across from my old house at 27th & MLK. Do you remember Eli’s Mile High Club? Still a dive, despite the remodel.

What happens if you drop your wallet in San Francisco? You kick it to Oakland before you bend over to pick it up! Then you get jacked and have it stolen. CA DMV lead was a bust, "too many missing numbers" for a favor. That not how Hunter did it!
