That round plastic plate on the firewall is part of a classic auto air kit.
I installed that kit in my swinger but made my own plate instead of the cheesy plastic one.

Looks like they did some custom spacing on the alternator brackets to get the alt to clear the head. Probably gave up on the AC install when it came time to install the compressor. Getting all the pulleys lined up was the hardest part of the install on mine.
Did the rest of the AC parts come with the car at least?

No, the only parts that came with the car are the big air box under the dash, some vent hoses and the stuff you see on the firewall. Evidently, my car was in the process of having A/C installed when it was sold to Hanksters Hotrods. I tried to get them to put me in touch with the previous owner and they told me "that was against their policy".
