Hi guys I picked up a 75 duster not too long ago and i’m planning on doing the whole 9 yard to it but there’s lots of small stuff I know I’ll need help with along the way. As of right now I have almost everything stripped off the body and i’m getting it ready for sand blasting. I have a 1969 383 short block and accessories that’s ready for the machine shop, an a833 from a dart that’s torn apart and ready for rebuild with new bearings and gaskets, I also found a steal of a b body 8 3/4 someone before me already converted to fit in a duster (moved spring perches in board). I have a lot of interior parts or at least enough to go with for now (bucket seats, door cards, sail panels, carpet, dash). first things first though I want to do a disk brake conversion and i’ve been leaning towards pol, does anyone have any experience with their stuff? It seems like a good deal for what it is. I also want to undercoat the whole thing before I put new suspension parts on does anyone have any recommendations for undercoating? thanks guys and there’ll be lots more questions and pictures to come

Hey! Welcome aboard! This sounds like a great project.
Check out Dr.Diff (DoctorDiff Drivetrain Components) for a bunch of MoPar suspension and brake stuff. They have an excellent reputation here.

These are the only pictures I have right now and they’re from a while ago, I can take more pictures after work today but progress has been slow the last couple months. Hopefully that’ll change as work as been slowing down

It ain’t easy doing this stuff much less doing it quick.
I’ll take it slow and make sure it’s right.

What’s the plans for the car and engine?

the motor is going to be a 383 stock bottom end with edelbrock rpm heads and dual plane intake but I haven’t chosen a cam or carb yet, but I do plan on swapping to a msd box and electronic ignition. as for the car it’ll mostly be a street car although I’d like to run it just to see what kind of time it would make. I want it to handle as good as possible in a stock configuration ie I don’t want coil overs.

The stock disc brake set up isn't bad either. They pop up in the classified here quite often and replacement parts are plentiful.

A stock bottom end is fine but the pistons may leave it on the low compression side.
I myself have had terrible trouble with the MSD units and will always leave the stock system (‘73+) in place for when the MSD fails. I also run a chrome box or a FBO set up.
The OE suspension can be upgraded easy enough. It just depends on what you want. Check with the racers as often they will drive there rides on the street as well as to and from the track and grab there thoughts.

Im not a fan of undercoating. Id rather spray it with bedliner. I used raptor on mine

Welcome from NC. I will be watching your build. Love Dusters from day one. I had a 72 340 4spd new and a pristine 74 318 ac car I let go about 8 yrs ago. I miss them both.

Hi everybody, I’ve been getting ready to order suspension parts and I talked to someone at POL and he gave me the part numbers for inner and outer tie rod ends, adjustment sleeves, control arm bushings and strut rod bushings. the bushing numbers were correct but when I looked up the tie rod part numbers (ES401R & ES401L) they came up as tie rods for a firebird. does anyone know if they’re the same somehow or did he just give me the wrong number?

Save you money and buy adjustable strut rods. Buy once, cry once.

Get in touch with site supporter PST & check out there site. IDK if they have what YR suggested, but, for everything else, that’s where you go. Great stuff. I’ll certainly use them again.
