Very odd radically modified SBM distributor... For a dry sump engine with a crank trigger???

Even with a dry sump and crank trigger you still need the drive gear.

That would be about my last choice for a distributor with a crank trigger. I’d want something with a big cap.

It does have the drive gear though.
...Just not the shaft that engages with a factory style oil pump, and a belt driven dry sump pump doesn't use a oil pump driveshaft, instead using a Gilmer belt drive.

Here's a SBF distributor for a dry sump engine that doesn't have provision for an oil pump driveshaft that is very similar to my SBM distributor:

Remember, this is some 25-30yo custom part made before anything else was available on the market for that application.

Maybe I'm just crazy...
