That rough surface will burnish in when you make several hard stops from about 60 down to 25 and rinse and repeat a few times. This burnishes the rotors and the pads finding everything a "home" so to speak and seating everything in together.

Nice car and cool brake kit. I am working on refurbishing the Kelsey Hayes 4 piston setup I have for Vixen now. With those and some 10" rear drums, she should have whoa like she has go now.

Had a blood red 1970 Duster back in the day with Kelsey Hayes 4 piston caliper brakes. Very fun car. Bought it from the original owner. Engine had a 318 with a 360 crank cut down to fit. The extra throw on the crank was great. Had a Comp 270 cam, headers, 3.23 gears. You ALWAYS regret selling a certain car, that was the one for me. Ran like a scalded dog.
