I have officially given up on finding a new dash pad for my 70 Dart! I ordered an ABC Moparts dash pad since it came highly recommended.............did not fit properly. I then ordered one from Classic Industries (not sure who manufactures for them)................did not fit properly. I even ordered an Accuform dash cap to cap my old dash pad............does not fit properly (leaves part of old pad showing along edge nearest windshield). Is this the way it's going to be now with replacement parts? I've gotten many other parts over the last year or two that also have no quality whatsoever. If this is the way it's going to be now I may just have to change hobbies. I give up!!!!

Try justdashes.com. I used them years ago and the pad came back perfect. The grain was even spot on.

My you must have a really nice show car or a lot of money to waste... what are you doing with your leftover dashes that don't meet your criteria.. I myself was a little discouraged with the texture of the grain pattern of vinyl but seems to me if you get a steel core replacement reproduction – pad for 380 bucks it seems to be okay I reckon..maybe front ridge is too defined instead of rounded slope...

I have a 70 Swinger 340 with a B7 blue interior. My car spent most of it's life in the desert, so the dash is cracked. Can you point me in the right direction, please. ANY help is appreciated.

Over 20 years ago, Just Dashes and Mr. G's. Factory fit and finish, still looks new. Worth the wait to do it right.
Been in this hobby (really life) forever. Still rare to find 'spot on' repro parts. A good amount are fine and without them we'd be lost. And we applaud those who keep making them better. But a lot are some kind of compromise or worse.

I second that...what you want to avoid is anything that the price is 'too low" its probably Chinese knock off= dont fit/look right. I did a Just dashes for my 86 Mustang Convertible and I seem to recall it was $400 bucks or so at the time.

Nope, actually I have neither! Both of the dash pads fit so poorly that they will not do even for a driver IMO. I was not even concerned with the grain texture. I don't know if I can get pictures sent, but basically the problem is where the dash should contact the instrument cluster bezel and the radio/heat control bezel (as the original pad does), there is a gap that you can put the tip of your finger in (1/2 to 5/8" gap) and it looks absolutely terrible. This has been the case with 2 different brand steel core pads. I tried the ABC Moparts pad first since several members on here had raved about the quality and fitment, and it obviously didn't live up to it's billing. The one I ordered from Classic Industries was the same. By the way, I sent the ABC Moparts one back for a refund before I bought the one from Classic. I paid $380+ for each of them and they are not usable IMO.

Well since my car is not a show car, I was trying for a good compromise. I was just looking for a "good" fit and a "reasonable price". I wasn't searching for perfection.
By the way, I think from what I've seen, getting my pad redone by justdashes would be in the $1000 to $1200 range today.

I have also been in this hobby for 50+ years, and unfortunately I have seen more "junk" repro parts lately than I have in the previous 50 years. I have given up on the "spot on" repro parts and now would just be happy to get something usable. By the way, these parts have come from every supposedly reputable supplier, manufacturer, distributor, known to man, so I'm not buying cheap!

Do they "redo" them or do they sell repops? I seem to recall they would request someone send them a good specimen of a dash pad and they would then take it and coy it as a repro. I can tell you this it would be worth it if you want a correct new dash pad for your car. I have a rally dash in my dart, and I am thinking i will spring for the new chrome plastic /woodgrain kit for it. i think it is also up there 75o bucks or so. Its a nice finishing touch when the car is done to have new looking interior. It sucks if ya cant afford it. can you find a used one and paint/dye it the color you need?

I just took mine to an upholstery shop and the recovered mine for $75. I think it looks good.

In 2008 I picked up a blue/blue '69 Fairlane Cobra 428SCJ. The four pod molded blue dash was perfect. Guy before me said he came across a station wagon for sale and bought it just for the dash. I understood. I remember in the '80's buying a '66 Tempest for the sweet interior parts to upgrade the '66 Goat I had at the time. Drove the Tempest for a couple years then sold it for $900 - doubled my money.

That's something I hadn't thought of. I'll try that before I order a new one, or send mine out. Thanks for the idea! Here's my tired B7 blue interior.

Here are pics of the problem I’ve described. As you can see, I have stuck two 7/16” bolts in the gap between the dash pad and radio/heater control bezel. The gap is the same for the instrument cluster bezel. Both bezels should contact the dash pad. Before anyone asks, yes, this is the original dash frame and yes, the dash pad is fully seated.
