What clutch for a 440?

I'm installing a 440 in my 67 Barracuda. Do I need an 11" clutch or is the 10 1/2" adequate for street use?

Will be a 440 w/mild street cam, HP manifolds, 3.23 gears. Street use, unlikely it will ever see the strip.

A 10 1/2'' would work fine for your combo and intended use.
Just make sure you get a good name brand assembly like McLeod.
 
A 10-1/2" or 10.95" (scalloped) and the 130 tooth fly wheel has been fine for 50+ years.

A real 11" and 143 tooth flywheel works also.

Which bellhousing are you planning on using?
 
Bell and Flywheel need to match. Not sure if the 11" was used in A-bodies?

Another vote for McLeod.
 
Use the scalloped 10.95". That's a nice trick for the 10.5" flywheel.
 
I'm not sure I agree. My 70 440-6 RR came with scallop pp and I had trouble with it. It never "really" released "clean" and I'm convinced disk material feathering off the outer edge of the disk would drag on the mounting tabs of the pp

Clutches have come a long way since the Jurassic age. lol
 
I use a 10.5" Centerforce Dual Friction behind a 470" low deck stroker in my street 69 B'cuda. Works fine.
