1968 150 MPH discussion

This is just info on the 150 speedo
1968 Barracuda, The 150 speedo can different ways. The number face is the same way as 1967. But the speedo end part of the speedo end came two different ways. Early 68 came with the screw on end and late came with the push on. As always with Chrysler I am sure some late ones also came with the crew on but I cannot prove that. I think some of The very late build 68 Barracuda built numbers on the face changed to the 69 style on the very late 68 cars built.
For what it is worth, my 68 Barracuda, per the fender tag, built Oct of 1967, car did not have shoulder belts, it did have the roof shoulder belt mount, with out the welded in threaded nut, in place behind the head liner. That early ‘68 had a push on speedo connector.
Originally the car had a 120 mph speedometer , I bought a 150 speedo from a seller here on FABO. I had the speedo cleaned and re conditioned at Deluxe Speedometer in Denver CO. As delicate as the magnets and mechanical drive system is in those antique gauges, I would have even a NOS speedo professionally inspected and cleaned prior to installation.
