1968 was not only a transition year for several changes but there was a railroad strike causing parts shortages too. Some number of Valiants were built with the B'cuda dash that year. Parts shortage or not, they always used up inventory on hand before implementing changes. A early 68 model could have the burlwood overlay ( only cut out different/larger at the fan switch ), Speedometer with screw on cable, Reverse lamp switch still inside the cab, etc...
