So I took 340 swinger to work yesterday, and it's all cleaned up and ready for the biggest show in the Willamette valley next weekend. My drive to work is about 10 miles there is a couple different routes I took the scenic route sweepy corners and long straightaways through farmland. As I as I cruised after work on a 70° beautiful Oregon day I was aware of a street bike filling my rear view mirror, I thought to myself well I'm going to at least make him work for this and engaged all six barrels on my 340 before I knew it I was almost doubling the posted speed of the corners and going well over a hundred down the straightaways. There were no other cars on the road but still I know better. I just want to say be safe out there everyone a lot of us have very powerful cars and most have questionable suspension, some have awesome suspension nevertheless let's all get through this summer alive and well.! Be safe everyone have a great time!!

I have a few roads near me that I can let it all hang out. They are straight and smooth with no driveways. If any cars are in sight I just cruise on down the road. I have good brakes and new suspension. Turns are not an option for me with the pizza cutters on the front. Have fun . Be safe.

I can relate. Just be sure not to get in a race with a red Ferrari 599 GTO and wrap the speedo needle down to the "H" on MPH on the 150 Rallye speedo with your buddy's wife in the car.

I forgot she was there for a minute. Her face was pure white for several minutes after that. She still ribs me about that day every once in a while.

I have factory front suspension sway bar, new shocks, 225 50 15 nexell tires on a 7-in rim the old girl does pretty good but I feel I was definitely pushing it a little too hard.

You gotta do it every now and then. lol

Check your tire date codes before you drive again....

That's all I got at the moment.

Yep, exceeding the tires is about the only worry. Bad suspension would scare you from 70+ mph anyways 'bump steer' lol

Good job, their meant to be enjoyed and that's why we love them.

Nice to get out and have a little fun, I like to do it once in a while, far less than I used to, one of the most fun times in recent memory was with my 2011 Camaro SS playing tag with a Porsche through the mountains a few years ago. Even my wife was into it, she enjoyed watching the Porsche fade into the distance on the long straight stretches.

Good point. I go through rears about every 2 years, but the fronts are 4 years old now. Rears are rated at 186 mph but fronts are only rated to 149 mph. Not sure how far above that I actually spun her up to. The factory speedo's are kind of happy.

The car kinda squatted down above 135 and felt very stable. I'm sure the added caster from the tubular upper control arms helped.

Only way to stay completely safe is to stay in the house !!! Accidents, virus, shootings.... Stay in the house!! Then you die from lack of sun... :(

ha, i love this schizophrenic site. 1/2 the time someone post about going over the speed limit, (not talking about street racing), people are all over their ***, the other 1/2 most of the posts are "cool..."

me, i do tend to drive aggressive... so i say "cool..." :steering:

It's one thing trying to do burnouts with your Muskrat in a crowded parking lot, or driving like an ***/boy racer on a busy highway- but another thing entirely to push the limits on a deserted back road with no driveways or cross streets... You can take chances, but don't risk someone else.
