I should be able to stop quicker.

Nice! Late B body stuff right? Love that set up. Best factory offering that is an easy to do swap/step up.
Wasn’t the Doc out of that for awhile?

Yes it was out of stock for a while. Back in now for the last month or so that I checked. Parts look well machined, packed well with the use of $5 worth of copper staples in the box ends LOL.

Congrats! I too bought that setup from Dr Diff and am waiting on wheels so I can do the front upgrade and go to BBP. Just did the rear axles from Dr Diff to get BBP on the back. Staying with rear drums but upgraded the stock rear from 2x1.75 to 2.5 drums. Should be plenty of stopping power.

I went with US wheels in 17" size. This gives a better selection of tires than the factory ones. Also lets me upgrade to very large front brakes if I get the hankering in the future.

That was the color of my first Duster. Very nice looking car. Is that color medium bronze metallic?

Yep, if you need replacement parts tell 'em you have a 78 Cordoba. I bought this kit from Cass about five years ago, been running on the Coronet with no issues. At the time he was using The Right Stuff as his vendor.

Yes it went by several names depending on what Mopar division the car came from. I found it at the Wellborn museum on a 1969 car. Loved it and painted the Gold Duster this color.

Put the 11.5" brakes on tonight. Here are my thoughts on the kit.
1) Well packaged for shipping
2) Good price
3) SS brake lines have the terminal that bolts to the caliper: now a small circular not the big block with the concentric sealing circles. We shall see how these seal and hold up. Copper washers were supplied.
4) Needed to keep and reuse the original 3 bolts (per side) for the dust shields. All other fasteners were supplied. the Mounts for the calipers have 3/8" hex socket bolts inlieu of the bolts like the factory units.
5) One of the calipers fought me to fit into the mount that holds it. Once the paint chipped off the caliper, it fit in the grove of the mount.
6) Front dust cover for the wheel bearings: Do not fit well, it has 4 "pinged" dots that are supposed to snug the fit into the outer rotor.
7) Rotors: The grip surface for the brake pads is rough. I cleaned the surface with a hydrocarbon cleaner, (Berrymans B12 spray) and the cloth was sheading fibers due to the rough surface. Hmmm?

That rough surface will burnish in when you make several hard stops from about 60 down to 25 and rinse and repeat a few times. This burnishes the rotors and the pads finding everything a "home" so to speak and seating everything in together.

Nice car and cool brake kit. I am working on refurbishing the Kelsey Hayes 4 piston setup I have for Vixen now. With those and some 10" rear drums, she should have whoa like she has go now.

Had a blood red 1970 Duster back in the day with Kelsey Hayes 4 piston caliper brakes. Very fun car. Bought it from the original owner. Engine had a 318 with a 360 crank cut down to fit. The extra throw on the crank was great. Had a Comp 270 cam, headers, 3.23 gears. You ALWAYS regret selling a certain car, that was the one for me. Ran like a scalded dog.

How funny! I used to have a '68 Valiant /6 (170) that I put a 360 into. I used to call that car "my scalded dog"!

This maybe a dumb question(s) but what spindles are needed & will 15 inch wheels clear ?

I have heard that the 15" wheels will fit over the 11.75" brake setup. If others have more info, please chime in. I should be able to get the Duster out on the road today and give an impression of the braking performance.

I asked Cass that very question, and he said the OE type rallye wheels I was wanting would. If not using OE wheels, then best to measure to be sure!

I think you mean 11.75” rotors. I have 11.75” rotors that fit in American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels, Wheel Vintiques 63 Series and my current wheels Wheel Vintiques 69 Series police wheels. All 15x7 wheels.

I put Later BBody 11.75 rotors and Slider type caliper adapters on my ABody and 15" stock steel rims fit but not stock 14" rally rims.

I’m not using my 14” Road Wheels aka Magnum 500, but before I installed the slider disc brakes I dropped the assembly into the 14” wheels with the 11” rotors. They fit. You’re right that the 11.75” rotors won’t fit, but the 11” rotors will.

Finally got out to do a "bed-in" of the front brakes. Several hard 55 to 15mph slow downs. Very nice braking that improved with many cycles. Straight as an arrow. With hard pushing on the pedal, when nearly at 15 mph, the back drum brakes would just start to lock up on clean dry asphalt. Is anyone running a special proportioner ? I have the 10" x 1/34" rear shoes.
