This is my latest rant involving piss poor quality repro parts. This time it's a dashpad for my 70 Dart. I ordered an ABC Moparts dashpad from Herb's Parts because they were recommended by several folks on here as being good quality, and "the best". It did not fit properly and left a 7/16 to 1/2" gap between the pad and instrument cluster and radio/heater control bezels. The bezels should contact the dashpad.

After speaking with Bob from ABC Moparts on the phone, he basically said he didn't think another one of his pads would fit any different. Doesn't really make sense as to why it wouldn't to me, but oh well! I sent the ABC Moparts pad back to Herb's Parts for a refund, and turned around and ordered one from Classic Industries (not sure who manufactures theirs). Upon receiving and installing it, I found that it fit no different than the ABC Moparts pad and had the same 7/16 to 1/2" gap. I'm totally frustrated now and don't know which direction to go next. I've included a pic showing 7/16" bolts placed in the gap between the bezel and dashpad for reference. And before anyone asks, yes, it's the original dash frame, and yes the dashpad is fully seated.

How is the bezzel being held in place in your photo?

Do you have the original one?
How do they compare?

Two nuts on the back of the bezel. It is pulled up flush against the dash frame. The original dashpad fits perfectly with no gap whatsoever between the bezels and pad. As a matter of fact, the original pad has witness marks from the instrument cluster and radio/heater control bezels contacting it.

Contact Just Dashes. Superb quality!

This!!

After seeing a number of reproduction pads , I had my upper and lower pads redone at Just Dashes. They told me up front that it would take a couple of months, which it did , but when I got the pads back ,they were properly packaged and looked absolutely factory!!
Great company to deal with!!

Im still waiting for mine from the dash factory.....Its been a couple of months for sure...maybe even 3 months. Was told a month ago that the supplies were in.....sent an email yesterday to ask for an update.

not a high demand item and things being what they are these days surprised anyone even makes them. Probably just one company and unfortunately you get what you get
