On a 360 block, I have a canton 910 oil pan with matching pickup(901)my measurements give me 1.5” clearance. That way to much, what do I do to correct this? Bend the tube? It seems like a lot to bend to make it right

First thing i would do is contact Canton, see if that really is the "matching" pickup.
And, you're right, an inch and a half is way too much. Depending on pickup style, i would try for under a half inch.

Edit: I'm kinda surprised that you have a canton pan for a mopar. I thought they did ford pans only, until recently ive seen they do a chevy LS pan or two.
Summit catalog shows one LS pan, one Amc, and fifteen ford pans.

When I was looking for a pan on summits site it came up and in the reviews many people were not happy with their Moroso pan so I got the canton. It’s in a street rod with lots of clearance so I wasn’t worried about it hitting a kframe. I looked on cantons website and I do have the pickup they recommend for that pan. I’ll have to call on Tuesday if I don’t get annoyed enough to just put a stock pan and pickup on by then

1.5 inches is a mile for any pickup. Post a picture of the pickup and OT should be relatively easy to figure out.

I got it together, just a measuring error on my part, this 318-408 swap should have been routine but has been anything but and has me stressed, every time I think I’m making progress something stops me

It happens to everyone. It's good that you're paying attention to these types of details! Keep it up!

I usually adjust the pickup so it just touches the pan without the pan gasket installed. The gasket adds just enough clearance so the pickup is down nice and low, but, doesn't rub the pan.

If there's no matching, you're going to have to cut yours and add an extension. It's done all the time. Welcome to hot rodding.
