Small block finally built

I am currently using that same Edelbrock kit on my 273 Commando. I have it behind a 904 transmission w/3000 stall converter and 3:91 rear gear. To be honest that's alot of cam for my 273. I'm using an Edelbrock 650 cfm carb which is fine. I had the distributor re-curved by Halifaxhops and it made a big difference between 2-3 shift. It's a pretty strong runner but gives up low end torque due to the high cam duration. I have a Lunatti 703 LK camshaft I'm probably going to put in this winter. 65'
Yeah, its definitely alot of cam, and I know that while they say it works on all the small block engines its really more geared for the 340+. So hoping with the 318 punched. 040 over that it plays well with everything. Running 3.55 gear ratio currently and may step it up into a little steeper gearset to get it dialed in.
