The way I have had success was to glue the two side pieces to the seal cap with the yellow 3m gorilla snot. Let them dry. That will prevent them from pushing out. I then offset seal ends. Install the seal cap with some sealeron the cap ends. I then use Silicone on the back side of the cap fill in the trench so to speak.
