I know most people are against them in a mopar. When I was just getting into cars the were the thing to have. They may not be that effective, but I love the look of them. I have a set I bought from Napa in the 80s, i was going to clean them up, and put the back on my car jus for the look, and if the work, then that's a bonus. What do you guys think.

A properly set up adjustable pinion snubber works just as well and is hidden from view. That being said, nothing wrong with the 80s look. I am sticking a ford explorer 8.8 under my kids car. Because there is not a pinion snubber mounting location on this axle, I will be installing some Lakewood traction bars for actual use, not looks. Will use black polyurethane bumpers, and will shim them up. We plan on painting them black.

It's your car and your work. You should do what YOU like for your car. They're not for me but who cares, it's not my car! I'm sure there are things on my car some don't care for either.

Do it. Put them on if you like the way they look. It's just that they are not needed on Mopars due to the location of the axle on the springs. They can easily be unbolted if you change your mind later.

Traction bars work FINE installed and adjusted right. I'm going to put mine back on Vixen when I get some taller tires. They hung a little low with the 13s she has on her. They can work better than a snubber since they can be adjusted separately from side to side.

I love them. I have put them on most of my cars and I have put a pair on my 66 barracuda. I had to cut them down a little (3") to make them fit proper on barracuda but I have always liked the look.

They actually Do work! I put them on my '65 just for the look and She Hook's Now!
Won't do a Burnout unless I'm Rolling in a turn, From a Dead Punch it'll Twist the Front-End a Lil! Lol

a good pinion snubber works! properly set up traction bars work better!! a snubber can sway side to side where bars will hit solid on both sides and car will leave straighter!

I too want the era correct eye candy. I have a set of Lakewood chrome bars and they look great, only $80

the winningest mopar I remember around here used them , all the mopar guys laughed at him for a while , till he blew their doors off. Pretty much if u drew him in the next round , u were done !

A snubber set up for strip is one thing vs. the snubber set up for the road. Back in the day ya' ran what ya' drove to work. A lot of adjustable snubbers got bent!

They're useless on Mopars throw them in the trash along with exhaust manifolds and "thermo-bogs'..

Properly set up, should they almost reach the eye? Putting pressure on the leaf seems what they are designed to prevent. Snubber was just a factory effort to control this "in house" without those extra things hanging from the suspension.

Quote from the OP says it all " They may not be that effective, but I love the look of them. I have a set I bought from Napa in the 80s, i was going to clean them up, and put the back on my car jus for the look, and if the work, then that's a bonus"
