Trying to figure out what lower radiator hose I can use on my Duster with a 440 swap

I took the old one to two local stores and have $35 worth of hoses that won't work, and need to be returned: Dayco C71723 and Master Pro C1956

I am aware I will likely have to trim whichever hose that I find.......but I can't seem to find one local

Water pump: 1.786"
Lower radiator neck: 1.805"

Any help with a part number?

Here's the old hose

i'VE BEEN THRU THIS... I'll look and see what I came up with that works......

Which side is lower hose on driver or passenger?

Sorry mines drivers side. Can’t help.

I have had success by taking the hose to auto parts stores and, if they will let you, match it up to what they have in stock that has the same diameter and bend somewhere on the hose. Trim to fit your hose. Worked for me.

well, my car does not have a 440 in it but I did have to use a ford radiator to in it. What you can do if your local o'reillys is cool enough is make a rough template with a piece of metal wire (like coat hanger) of how the hose needs to curve. Then ask to be let in the back (most times if you need a special radiator hose they will offer to let you in the back) when you get back there try and find a hose with the curvature you need then when you get home, cut to proper length and boom. custom radiator hose. (I suggest getting the normal non-flexible hose just in case you mess up and need to buy another one.)

What about using a Dayco or Gates flexible radiator hose?

Total length is 12-5/8"

Will the corrugated flexible pipe hurt coolant flow at all?

Thanks

Seems like a simple solution to use the flexible hose

I think the 1-3/4" size should work on both ends.......

Ive used the larger size ,1.8 on both ends and use a spacer on the water pump end. You parts store should have it, it's just a rubber collar that you put on the water pump first then the hose.
They work good no problems.

9 times out of ten, thats a piece of cake for the top hose, and a no-go for the bottom hose. Can you give any detail of how the two hoses you are returning didnt work.... it may help to know....

I used one for a 68 roadrunner w/ a big block , recommended by a memeber on here , about 10 yrs ago. Had to lightly shorten one end-----------jfyi

Go to Rockauto to the part number search. Type in 60858 Continental, and see if the picture looks like it will work. Let me know, I might have an extra one.

The Continental 60858 will work for you I think. Like I said above-look at the picture on Rockauto, and go from there.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions

I ordered two:

Flexible: Gates 26603

Molded: Continental 60858

I'll figure out this weekend which fits the best and return the one I don't end up using

Gates 26603 fits really good, length is about perfect

Wait and see how the molded hose works
