The problem with "...but those foreign cars are built here" is that the profit goes back to Japan.

If it did not, they wouldn't do it.

The problem with "the profits go back to" is that auto manufacturers are multinational corporations. They are only patriotic when they need a bailout, tax break, or military contract.

The Big 3 have been worldwide manufacturers since the early 1900's. They manufactured in and for Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, Soviet Russia, Fascist Italy, etc. etc..

Today, if you want to buy a new Jeep or Ram truck you are buying a Stellantis product.

Who is Stellantis? A Dutch multinational corp.

Who is a shareholder of Stellantis? Dongfeng-A Chinese State owned auto and military weapons manufacturer based in Wuhan.

Sorry folks. There is nothing patriotic about automobile companies and there never was.
