Hello everyone,

I've been having a hard time finding a power steering gearbox that will fit in my 1975 Plymouth Duster. I've ordered one from advance auto and from a local parts store but they send a different one than the one shown in the pictures. And the ones I find cost an arm and a leg. I got a quote today to rebuild the one I have but they wanted 600. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a photo for reference

I sent mine for rebuild through Rock auto. The company they use did an excellent job. I believe the company is Lars, and it's cheaper to go through Rock auto than with them direct. Quick turn around and I think it was around $200. Had my power steering pump done too, very satisfied.

Thanks for the response! And how would one go about doing that?
Just get on Rock Auto web site, and look up the steering box for your car. Chances are they will not have a rebuilt or new box in-stock, but will offer the rebuilding service through Lares Corp. You purchase the service, and they email the shipping label to you, and you send your box direct to the rebuilder, and when done, they

send it back to you directly.

You can also rebuild them yourself but its not for the faint of heart. Not a fun thing to rebuild at all. I have done a couple of them and would be fine to never have to pull one apart again.
