Hi guys.
I took my top off and cleaned up the body and uh, waited a bit to long to put it all back together and uh, lost all the documentation I made, uh, YEAH, THATS IT! I LOST IT!

Anyway I trying to remember how to secure the top behind the rear window see pictures and what the heck this piece is? Thought it was for the top, anyone know?

(My service manual is quite sparse on the convertible stuff, mostly framing.)

Thanks guys, so glad you are here!
John

That piece appears to be the metal strip that holds the well liner and inner side curtain

Exactly right! Got it outside and found the holes matched up so its now on there. Does anyone know where I might find a template for the top well liner? Mine is toast, brittle as uh, uh peanut brittle! yeah that's it peanut brittle!
I know I c an buy a new one for $200+ but my car has been repainted and not the original color so I thought if I could find a template I might try sewing one myself.
Thanks y'all.

Make a template from the reminants of what you have.

I know Capt Obvious!

You may be able to get a new one from Hydro-E-Lectric convertible parts

I checked Hydroe and they do not have the well liner but CTG does and it is listed at $89 which is quite below what I have seen so am concerned about quality. Can anyone vouch for the quality of the liner?
Thanks

There are only a few companies that make this stuff You really can get hurt for the price it is not a moving piece I would take the shot

The only correct liner is from Legendary Interiors. The rest sort of work but are not correct.

Thanks for the info guys. Kinda shelved it right now still trying to get the engine to not stall out after a while. ;-(
