a904 NSS change without draining 'trick'...

My apologies--probably a silly question but I ask a lot of those...
I need to change the NSS on my a904.
But I can't drain the fluid and must do it as quickly as possible.

I've read that some people jack up the drivers side of the car so the ATF doesn't blast out the threads when the NSS is removed. Does that work? If I jack it up by say 8 inches is that enough?

Why?
I cant risk causing a mess and I must do so as quickly as possible so my landlord doesn't catch me wrenching again (against the terms).

Thank you for any advice :)
