Ford Maverick

Damn, my Courier story is a lot tamer and involved the adopted brother, the Mazda B2000. Bough my work mates old 82 B2000 and drove the **** out of it, once again, to Canada and back to tow his SSS powered 510 home on a U-haul dolly. 2.0 MA motor, plenty of power for a 4 banger up until 4th but 5th was "Kansas gear". It all fell through and ended up coming back empty handed but it had a shell on the back and we took turns sleeping back there in a sleeping bag while the other drove. It had no seal between the rear window and the shell so it was quite windy, cold and noisy back there. It always started on the first revolution of the motor, cold or warm. Thing had an awesome carb or something. Had larger that stock tires so it just floated over curbs, and it had a .78:1 5th gear that had us going about 80 at 2000 RPM. Blew a head gasket and seized the distributor so I junked it. Fast forward 20 years and I buy another 83 B2000 and its still in the driveway, It has a 63 Valiant bench seat in it! nightmare smogging it until I bought a NOS carburetor and then repaired the leaking exhaust. Its getting mothballed for the 15 year old who just showed me a 4.116 GPA report card! He aint getting a new car, were gonna work this one together to make it look nice: body and paint experiment as the motor is tits now.
