Let me start by saying. I did not purchase these seats they were given to me, because of this failure. These were in a car that was driven maybe 5k miles, since they were installed. I thought just others to be aware of a future problem.

The welds on the seat back frame are horrible. They are only welded on the front side of the seat frame. They will be completely welded when I'm done.

Seats I got

Broken weld

No weld

Seat had a horrible lean to the center of the car while sitting in the driver's seat.

I wonder if they are certified for use in passenger cars, those welds might be a liability to the company if they broke improperly in an accident

It's gettin so we're just gonna have to start making all out parts ourselves.

You get what you pay for.
They are good looking seats though.........

I have those same seats, not installed yet, bought them from someone that changed plans, but my project has dragged on longer than planned.
Think I’ll pull the covers before I bother putting them in.

Found this online- please read the last line... kinda says it all:

If you have ever been to the Procar seat website, you know that “sensible styling” is the brand’s slogan. Blending contemporary styling with classic design cues, these seats by Scat Enterprise creations are the premier aftermarket alternative to “import”automotive seating.

Wow. I was thinking about ordering these seats for my ‘67 Dart. It seemed like most people were happy with them. Now this has me reconsidering.

I really wouldn't discourage anyone from
considering them. They are actually really comfortable. Just wanted to show a potential flaw in their manufacturing and what to look for should a seat back have strange lean to it.

It was a simple repair and now it's a much stronger frame.

The way it should have been. Just needs a little paint.

Thanks Greasy, I decided to order the same seats you have. I figured if the same problem develops at least I’ll know what I need to do. I mean, considering my project... what’s a little more welding? lol!

Let someone else design them, you just need to hit every weld point with an actual weld. Everything I buy second had hits the bench before I attempt to use it. Been taking stuff apart for fun since I was 5 and almost everything I buy second hand is jacked up somewhere...that's how I get 'em so cheap. Now if its new and doesn't work, then it goes back.

I peeled mine apart and the welds look pretty good. I had heard pretty good recommendations for them previously, & certainly didn’t intend to dissuade anyone from buying them. I just wanted to look before going to the hassle of installing to then find I need to work on them.
They look pretty good, and the adjustable back is a big bonus over what I had.

no issues with mine so far, but I've only put about 1000 miles on them

I put a set of the Scat Procar Elite Series 1100 seats in my daughter's car and they have been great. I had to make my own brackets though because it's a '65 A body.
