The 5 blade fan should move more air due to the weird design and the viscous is the fluid in the clutch unit. They should be used together.

The fan diameter should fit the shroud being used.

I`m having trouble seeing the 5 blade move more air , would like to see proof.
Back in the day , they were for killing fan noise on reg. engines , never saw a hemi or 440 come out w/ 5 blade fan , have you ??
Both the 426 hemi`s I had came out with viscous drive 7 blade fans !
