Just installed my Turbo Action shifter. I moved the shifter back about were the ash tray was. I didn't want to cut up the original top so I cut out a plastic top and put carpet on it to finish it off. Might black out the wood grain yet on the console lid.

Another Cheetah. Used a '69 console lid. Covered it with Kydex that closely matches the dash texture.
